Hey kids!

I'm nearly done with the last batch of pages for this issue (and have already started on the next! plus a mini comic for print only!)

But while you're waiting on me, check out this community on livejournal I occasionally draw really, really quick comics for. It's called comic exercise. One of the latest ones features a young Sammy.

I've also made a couple of posts in Dandizettes (my community sketch blog) lately.

I haven't had a chance to finish up the last few pages of this issue since my husband's family is now in town and I spent the weekend totally redesigning his comic's website. So check out Framed!!! (which is updating again) and see how you like it! I'll be getting to the rest of the pages in time. Or making him do it.
Redoing websites teaches me new stuff all the time. So now I'm a year's better and smarter at it, I'm beginning to itch to redo the Eat the Roses website. But... I should probably draw comics instead.

Updated! With still more horrible punk Mary Poppins, fight scenes, and hands!

I draw goofy things, what can I say?

When we did that Keencast, part of it got cut out for technical reasons where I talked about art a little bit. I joked around about drawing hands and how many ways there were to avoid drawing hands. Unfortunately, I do not take my own advice. I've got people gesturing all over the place, hands akimbo. I like hands. They're horrible to draw sometimes, but I love the way they look. But for this update, I finally got a chance to not draw hands, however briefly. It made me feel dirty.

Plug: I recently got around to reading through the Zap! archives. Space archives. It is good, pretty stuff. I like adventure sci-fi, robots named Robot, and strange physic things. Did I mention it's also pretty? ITALICS PRETTY?

PS - Has anyone noticed anything secret in issue #0 of Eat the Roses yet?

HEY MY LADIES! Lea Hernandez has something awesome for you:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Please re-post, link to, and propogate at will.)

Women Webcomicker Grant NAN

I am Lea Hernandez. I am committed to being a webcomicker, and have been for over ten years. I put up my first webpage, Pink Radio, in late 1995. On this page was a link to a preview of "Monster Friday," a short story from the Japanese CD-ROM anthology ComicON Vol. 1. The Web is a force for equalizing audience access for women who want to make comics, but face a still-hostile direct market, and many hurdles (mainly financial), in a somewhat friendlier, but still difficult, bookstore and convention circuit markets.

This update took a bit more time that I thought, but the next couple should be much faster, since during that time I worked way ahead on the next pages. In the meantime, though, 4 new pages! Or click here to start at the beginning of the chapter!

My parents used to own a green Volkswagen Rabbit, and as awful as the car was, with no AC in Georgia, it was still awesome.

I don't know if Andy's parents owned a certain talking car...

I'm thinking about doing a tutorial for how I do these things. I'll be the Bob Ross of webcomics, showing you how to paint happy little clouds and Sammies.

OH MAN, I am so excited about the next batch. It'll be 5 pages and will feature my favorite page of Andy's script and A FIGHT!
